As its success continues to season 3, MB Life had an opportunity to talk with Lily Collins and Ashley Park (who plays the role of Mindy) about love, friendship, and career.

MB Life: Lily, Emily is such a risk taker when it comes to all aspects in her life. Can you please give us a tip on how we can brave that one leap of faith when it comes to taking a risk in life and in love?

Lily: I love that. That’s a great question. I think not being afraid to fall is really important. I think letting go of control and not being afraid to not have it go perfectly is really important in order to succeed and go forward. And, sometimes. you have to rely on others to lift you up. And that’s okay. So as long as you know that you have the support system around you, to support you when things don’t go your way, and to celebrate you makes it that much easier.

MB Life: “Emily in Paris” shows us the reality that the relationship between friends is not always smooth sailing. What are the important lessons on friendship have you learned while working on this project?

Ashley: These are really good questions. I think that what I love most, especially the female friendships between us three is that there’s no sense of judgment. I think that we all have our separate challenges, and we go through different obstacles. And we even don’t see eye to eye sometimes. I think that the grounded support that comes in friendship comes from this non-judgmental nature in the spirit of just always trying to be empathetic and be there for each other. And I think that’s really beautiful.

Lily: I’ve learned so much from both of these women on set and offset about embracing who you are, learning and growing, and not being afraid to ask for help or ask questions. As simple as seeing you with and without your makeup is the same as seeing you with and without knowing all the answers all the time. You know, it’s like you’re being able to be vulnerable, as well as strong, and that’s a beautiful thing. And both of these women here beside me on screen and off are that, and they emulate that all the time, and it’s very inspiring.

Now on its season 3, the show continues to share Emily’s adventure in Paris for her dream job. Now Emily finds herself at a crucial crossroads in every aspect of her life. Faced with two very different paths, she will have to decide exactly where her loyalties lie—at work and in her romantic life—and what those decisions mean for her future in France. She juggles all of these while continuing to immerse herself in the adventures and surprising twists and turns that life in Paris provides.

“Emily in Paris” season 3 will stream on Netflix starting Dec. 21, 2022.
