It seems like for another time around, our plans to spend some time in Baguio will be put on hold again.
Due to the rising cases os COVID-19 and the threat of Omicron virus, the Baguio Tourism office has announced that the local government unit is temporarily suspending all new requests for leisure travel in the city.
In a Facebook post, the office says that pre-approved travels before that announcement will still be honored but they will no longer be accepting new requests for the time being.
“In view of the threat of the new COVID-19 variant Omicron, and the expected surge in cases, we are temporarily not allowing new requests for leisure travel on Baguio VISITA,” the post says. “Previously approved leisure travels with QTP will still be honored and allowed entry. See the photo poster for details and keep posted for updates and further announcements.”
Meanwhile, essential workers and official travels are allowed as long as the visitors will submit required documents and will undergo triage health screening.
