There is no denying that Bretman Rock is now a household name across the globe. This proudly Pinoy international influencer is continuously creating history as he became the first-ever Playboy’s openly gay cover model.

But what really is his secret to this success? During the on-going IMMAP Digicon 2021 where he was one of the keynote speakers, Bretman says that it’s because he’s doing it not for fame but to feed his soul.

“The first couple of years of content creating there’s nothing really more I wanted to be then but to put my content out there and be famous,” he admits. “Something shifted in me when I was 18, it became very clear to me that I wasn’t even doing this to be famous anymore, I was just doing it because it fed my soul.”

He then calls out some of those self-entitled influencers who are joining the influencing field for perks.

“I would really like to shed a light on, I’ve seen this a lot going around especially like on Twitter and on TikTok where the self entitlement comes with the term influencer there’s some influencers that really just go into restaurants and think that their fame is gonna pay for the meal or like they’re going to get their nails done,” he says.  “I think, a misconception that people have is just because you’re famous, things should be handed to you.”

According to the 23-year-old influencer, influencers shouldn’t think and act that way.

“Sometimes I think that people join [the influencing world] for fame so they could have the perks,” he says. “But it should never really be about that and people can see your intentions. Focus on doing this for your soul and not because of what you think there is in it.”

The internet star then hinted at a possible big screen projects.

“I feel like Bretman rock is getting tired of being seen in a little phone screen, he’s tired of being seen in your laptop,” he says. “I think it’s time for me to find a bigger screen to be in.”

Way to go, Bretman. We’re excited to see you on big screens
