The local entertainment industry is mourning with the passing of the legendary actor Eddie Garcia, Thursday, June 20. 

According to the hospital report, the 90-year-old icon died at 4:55 pm. In can be recalled that Garcia fell in to coma last June 8 after he had a neck injury that while on taping for his teleserye on GMA 7, the “Rosang Agimat.”  

Garcia has more than 300 films under his belt and bagged numerous awards as an actor, his big contributions in the Philippine entertainment industry is undeniable. With that, it is no surprise that even younger actors are mourning and they took on social media to share their sympathies. 

Actress Anne Curtis sent her prayers to the actor’s family. “It is a sad and heartbreaking day as we lose a legend in our industry – who was so loved by many. Rest in Peace Tito Eddie. My prayers are with his family,” she wrote. 

Meanwhile, her sister Jasmine Curtis-Smith, said that Garcia is “an exceptional example” to the young actors, and she’s thankful for having an opportunity to work with him. 

Kapamilya actor Paulo Avelino tweeted “Rest in peace Tito Eddie Garcia. 300++ films made in his lifetime. TRULY A LEGEND!”

Heart Evangelista also said her goodbye to the late actor. “You will be missed Tito Eddie,” she used as a caption to the photo she shared on her Twitter account. 

On the other hand, Alessandra de Rossi gave thank to her “Tito Eddie.” “Mahal kita tito eddie. Salamat sa pagiging inspirasyon sa aming lahat.”

Gabbi Garcia also thanked the actor for the advice he gave her. “When I heard that I will be working with you for my first solo soap, i was overjoyed. Isa ka po sa mga pinangarap kong makatrabaho. We only saw each other thrice, but yet you gave me advice that I will never forget. Thank you Tito Eddie. Rest well,” she wrote on her Instagram post.
