Looking to clear out your closet? Gap could put your old clothes to good use.
The American apparel brand is bringing back its Recycle Your Blues campaign for another run.
The initiative, now on its third year, lets anyone donate a pair of old jeans to individuals in shelters and impoverished communities around the metro via the volunteering organization and returning partner, Hands On Manila Foundation, Inc. Since launching the campaign back in 2017, the partnership’s initiative has collected and donated a total of 4,584 jeans.
This year, the denim donations will also be used to create a livelihood program that will teach the urban poor how they can recycle old jeans.
The best part? Anyone who presents a pair of old jeans at the participating stores can get 40% off on any one regular-priced pair of denim jeans. Customers will also get a 30% off voucher for regular-priced items to complete their look with new releases from the Gap Summer collection.
So long as the jeans are still in good condition—sanitized and reusable, to be specific—any brand will be accepted.
The Recycle Your Blues campaign will run from May 31 to June 2, 2019 at the following Gap stores:
- Alabang Town Center
- Central Square
- Glorietta 4
- Shangri-la Mall
- SM Mall of Asia
- SM Megamall
- Ayala Center Cebu
If you happen to be a member of the Gap VIP Loyalty Program, participating in this campaign can give you a 35% off voucher code for online purchases, valid from June 3-30, 2019.
For regular, walk-in customers who do not have any old jeans to donate, you can still enjoy 20% off on regular-priced items.
