Footwear brand Onitsuka Tiger is releasing new shoe designs which take inspiration from one of Street Fighter V‘s most prominent characters, Chun Li.
The collaboration, aptly labeled “Street Fighter V x Onitsuka Tiger,” reimagines the iconic Mexico 66SD in two colorways with a dragon-themed, graphic on the upper: one is predominantly yellow with a navy blue detailing and the other is mostly in white with blue and yellow detailing.
The colors are from the cult favorite video game series’ Chun Li, who is the first female fighter of any fighting game franchise.
The new pairs are set for a July 27 release and only 5,000 pairs of these designs will be available for purchase worldwide.
The best part? Die-hard fans of Capcom’s well-known video game will get a special product code car from each pair. This will give gamers the chance to unlock kicks, as well as a Chun Li Onitsuka Tiger costume within the game.
Renowned Japanese manga artist Masazaku Katsura is the designer of the special Chun Li costume.
Since its official release in 1987, Street Fighter V has already sold over 42 million copies worldwide. Its console version released in 1992, Street Fighter II, has revolutionized the fighting game genre.
As of writing, there’s no word yet about the shoes’ retail price and if both colorways will be available in the Philippines.
