It’s no secret that sneakers are the most comfy pair of shoes you can ever put on your feet. It’s also the most versatile and stylish footwear to own, as you can take it from your day’s errands to the night’s chill hangout with friends. To top it off, it’s functional enough to be a go-to for those who are unstoppable in their everyday hustle and always on-the-go.
But how exactly can we get the most out of our trustee sneakers?

In a quick chat at a house party in Dulo MNL for Adidas’ new footwear the Nite Jogger, fashion and travel blogger Laureen Uy, as well as singer-actor Donny Pangilinan tell us their personal style, the perks of wearing sneakers, and how they would dress it down or up, depending on the day’s agenda.
Laureen Uy

As an OG blogger—starting her own at 21—Laureen Uy has gone through so many style phases. “My style changed so much,” she says. “I tried all sorts of style like preppy, feminine, [and] girly. Kahit goth siguro, na-try ko na.”
Trying out edgier clothing, however, has helped her transition to dabble on comfy, streetwear. “Now, I’m all for comfort. As in,” she adds. “You can walk in it the whole day pa.”
For Uy, wearing sneakers on a casual day means pairing it with tri-colored windbreaker, joggers, and a black sports bra, as seen in her outfit at the party.
If, however, you’re taking your sneakers to a fancier event, she suggests wearing it with co-ord suit and pants. “I’d go for a lilac, mustard, or gray blazer with a tank top or cropped top inside,” she explains. “Then I’ll match the pants to the suit. Lahat naman bagay sa sneakers eh.”
Donny Pangilinan

Donny Pangilinan likes to keep it casual every day. “I’d probably wear a hoodie and ripped jeans with my Adidas sneakers,” he says. “Sometimes, I’ll wear just a plain black shirt.” At the house party, he adds a denim jacket and socks as point accessories.
What’s most important for Pangilinan, though, is his footwear. For the singer, actor, and model, sneakers are more than just aesthetics. “I’ve learned that the first thing people see is the shoe, so it really has to be a unique pair that not a lot of people have,” he explains. “It says a lot about your personality, too.”
For dressier events, he says he would pair his sneakers with a blazer, pants, and an unbuttoned polo. “The color depends on the Nite Jogger,” he says. “If it’s white, it’s white. If it’s black, it’s black.”
The Adidas Nite Jogger is now available online and in stores for PhP 7,500.
