Eco-friendly sneakers just might be the best fashion trend of 2019. Not only are they stylish, they also promote conscious living and consumption, which ultimately helps the environment.
Enter “Converse Renew,” the footwear brand’s latest initiative “to make our products in more innovative and sustainable ways.”
The sustainable Chuck Taylors are set to look and feel the same as the pair everyone have known and loved, except that it’s iconic upper is now made from 100 percent recycled polyester that came from used plastic bottles.
“Touch it, feel it, wear it–we bet you won’t know the difference,” the brand writes on its website. “Except the you’ll look good–and feel good–knowing you’re giving waste a second life.”
The Converse Renew Sneakers will be available starting July 5 in the brand’s Glorietta, Greenbelt, EDSA Shangri-La, and Ayala Feliz stores and online via Lazada.
