For 18 years, ToyCon PH, the biggest and longest-running pop culture event in Asia, has been drawing the young and young-at-heart with their hot attractions, avid exhibits, and select artists for the ultimate fandom moments.
This year’s ToyCon entitled the Poplife Fan Experience, to be held at the SMX Convention Center in Manila from June 28 to 30, will continue that awesome legacy with an exciting list of toys, finds, attractions, and so much more!
The opening day of ToyCon 2019, Friday, June 28, with doors opening at 12 noon, has a jam-packed start to the convention with a Horror panel with Warner Bros. and the Block Z film featuring Julia Barretto, Joshua Garcia, and director Mikhail Red. Games and auctions will go on all day amidst the attractions, culminating with a movie screening.
The event’s second day will start a little earlier at 10AM, and is filled by panels with the likes of Marvel, PTGA, Designer Art Toys, plus Jedi Academy! A gaming conference of the GDAP will carry on from the first day, while the PopLife Stage will have a new Funko Jollibee Launch followed by a Funko Unboxing Video Awarding.
The last day of the convention will have a full day from 10AM to 8PM with DC Comics represented by Wonder Woman and Batman panels. Toy lovers will get tips on collecting plus a chance of winning prizes, not to mention the many awards to be dished out until the day ends.
A number of guests will be there such as Michael Cudlitz and Steven Ogg from The Walking Dead, pop artist Ron English, plus a 22-feet statue of Imperial Palace Batman to celebrate the Dark Knight’s 80 years in publication – not to mention the many comic creators and toy designers showing their awesome works.
Keep an eye out though because roaming around the convention are Annabelle, It, and Chucky, looking to create havoc for all the fans.
Ticket prices vary among how many days an individual wants to go to ToyCon 2019 – Php600 for 1 -day pass, Php1000 for 2-day pass, and Php1300 for 3-day pass. Students with valid IDs can get a day ticket for Php 300 while five-plus-one people can avail the 1-day Squad Pass for Php3000, toddlers below 3 feet and infants get in free!
