Kapuso actress Jasmine Curtis-Smith appealed to the netizens to help her latest movie “Maledicto” to stay in cinemas. 

On her Twitter account, Jasmine may have acknowledged the tough competition their film is going through but promised that it is worth watching. “Help us stay in cinemas til the weekend pls. It’s a really tough fight but I promise you that it’s worth the watch,” she wrote. 

“Maledicto” is the first film produced by Fox Philippines. Here, the 25-year-old actress plays the role of Sister Barbara and co-stars with another Kapuso actor Tom Rodriguez. 

The said horror movie premiered last Wednesday, May 1. It is struggling to stay in cinemas, competing against international films such as “Avengers: Endgame” and another horror story directed by James Wan, “The Curse of La Llorona.”

On another tweet, the actress also revealed that two malls declined to screen “Maledicto.” “Two malls in Taguig declined our block screenings because apparently they don’t screen local films anymore.”

With these, fans sent their support, while others said that as much as they wanted to watch the movie, they couldn’t because it is not available in the cinemas of their respected areas.
