The band members of Queen and the family of the Bohemian Rhapsody’s subject, Freddie Mercury, are considering the possibility of working on a sequel.
Rudi Dolezal, one of Mercury’s closest friends and director of several music videos and documentaries about the band, confirms it in a Gent Side report.
Dolezal says the second Bohemian Rhapsody film will revolve around the band’s long-time manager Jim Beach. Fondy called by Mercury as “Miami,” Beach is the co-founder of the Mercury Phoenix Trust, which promotes AIDS prevention worldwide. He is also one of the producers for the globally successful 2018 biopic.
He also reveals that the sequel is set to start at Live Aid, which is where the Rami Malek-led film ends.
It is unclear, however, if Malek will be able to star in the sequel as rumor of him playing the villain in the next James Bond film is swirling around.
