Can’t post on Facebook or Instagram since late last night? That’s because the two social media platforms were partially down in some countries around the world, including the Philippines.
Both platforms took to Twitter to address the matter.
In a thread, Facebook said it is aware “that some people are currently having trouble accessing the Facebook family of apps” and that they are “working to resolve the issue as soon as possible.”
We're focused on working to resolve the issue as soon as possible, but can confirm that the issue is not related to a DDoS attack.

It also assured everyone that the issue is not related to a Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack or the intentional paralyzing of a computer network by flooding it with data sent simultaneously from many individual computers. The last time Facebook had a massive outage was in November 2018.
Instagram, meanwhile, said they are also working to correct the issue.
We’re aware of an issue impacting people's access to Instagram right now. We know this is frustrating, and our team is hard at work to resolve this ASAP.

“We know this is frustrating and our team is hard at work to to resolve this ASAP,” the social media platform wrote.
During the outage, only the messaging functions of both platforms are working, while others were not able to access them at all.
As of writing, people are already able to post on Facebook and Instagram.
Both social media platforms have yet to release another statement regarding the outage.
