After the announcement of IKEA’s opening in 2020, another international brand will be here in the country in 2019 and it will surely shake things up.
The burger Gods heard our prayers, friends. Shake Shack, the popular US burger chain is finally opening its first branch in Manila and in the Southeast Asia early next year. It’s slated to open at the Central Square on the corner of C1 Park and 5th Avenue in Bonifacio Global City.
The construction will kick off with two murals inspired by the spirit and landscape of Metro Manila by Filipino artist Jappy Agoncillo. The first mural on the store facade along 5th Avenue “used real life monuments and buildings, each from some of the major cities that make up Metro Manila, as inspiration,” says Agoncillo. While the second one inside Central Square, is inspired by Manila’s rooftop scenery.
Shake Shack is known for its 100% all-natural Angus beef burgers and chicken sandwiches, griddled flat-top dogs, fresh-made frozen custard, and crispy crinkle-cut fries. It has been recognized as one of TIME Magazine’s “17 Most Influential Burgers of All Time” and it won the “Best Burger” in 2014 at the South Beach Wine and Food Festival’s Burger Bash.
