The creative genius also directed, produced, and wrote the hit Nickelodeon series which was launched in 1999. It is also one of the longest-running American television series. co- He revealed last year that he had been diagnosed with the neurodegenerative disease ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.
As we all mourn for the death of the legend, here are some of the best Spongebob Squarepants episodes that everyone should watch:
“F.U.N.” (Season 1, Episode 10b)
Who would’ve forget the episode where Spongebob befriends Plankton. This is also one of the first episodes where we see Spongebob and his friends sing. “F is for friends who do stuff together / U is for you and me / N is for anywhere and anytime at all, down here in the deep blue sea!”
“The Secret Box” (Season 2, Episode 35a)
Season 2’s “The Secret Box” tests the friendship of Spongebob and Patrick. In this episode, Spongebob wants to see what is inside Patrick’s secret box. I mean, we all want to take a look inside Patrick’s box, right? (LOL)
“Procrastination” (Season 2, Episode 35a)
Just like some of us, Spongebob also procrastinates. Our yellow sponge friend has to write an 800-word essay on what not to do at a stoplight, but because he’s Spongebob, he finds tons of ways to get distracted. So funny and meme-worthy.
“Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy” episodes
There’s a lot of episodes with special guests, but our favorite ones are with Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy. They are Bikini Bottom’s very own Batman and Robin!
“Frankendoodle” (Season 2, Episode 34b)
Remember the cute doodle version of Spongebob? “Frankendoodle” is the episode where Spongebob uses a magical pencil to prank Squidward with a doodle of himself named DoodleBob. Mee hoy minoy!
Thank you for giving us Spongebob, Patrick, Squidward, and the whole gang, Stephen. Rest in peace.
