Kristine Hermosa is definitely back in the entertainment scene… but with specific limitations as her family is her priority now.
She admits that she would love to accept more “wholesome” roles as long as it would not affect her time with her family.
“I enjoy my job pero ‘yun na nga, ‘yung schedule talaga. Hindi ko naman masa-sacrifice syempre ‘yung family ko. They need me. Basta wholesome, wag masyadong drama kasi draining ‘yun. Baka pagdating ko sa mga anak ko iyak na lang ako nang iyak,” reveals the 35-year-old mom of four.
During the press launch of her newest endorsement, Kool Fever, the actress went on to talk about her family, showbiz plans and why she has decided to accept fewer offers.
“Sa buong pamilya ang daming nangangailangn ng oras ko, ng oras ni Oyo. Ngayon na lang ulit ako bumalik. Very hands-on ako, wala naman kaming ibang maaasahan but kami ni Oyo talaga,” further shares Kristine. She was joined by her youngest son Vin, who was also an endorser of Kool Fever.
She also admits that even though she already has kids, she hasn’t fully grasped her role as a mom. “Up until now, nafi-feel ko pa rin minsan na medyo kinakabahan ako. Kaya nga sa totoo, si God lang talaga that keeps me together.”
The lovely actress was also asked if she and her husband see themselves as showbiz parents and she replied that they are open to the possibility as long as their kids’ foundations are already established before joining the entertainment scene.
“Actually, yung mga anak ko may mga signs na gusto nila, kasi siguro nakikita nila na ginagawa namin. Kapag ginusto naman ng mga anak namin basta tapos na silang mag-aral, yung foundation nila intact, we’ll support them.”
Advice for Liza Soberano
Prior to her newest endorsement, Hermosa appeared in the fantasy teleserye Bagani where she played the role of Malaya. The show starred Liza Soberano thus Kristine was not spared the question if she saw herself in the younger actress.
“Meron konti. Pero hindi naman everything. Very innocent. Naks! Syempre naman inosente naman ako nung kapanahunan ko. Siguro there are times na oo lang din siya nang oo sa mga projects kahit na pagod na pagod na siya. Ganun din ako dati, pero yun nga, you have to take care of yourself also. Siguro kaya rin may time naburnout din ako,” she says.
She went on to describe Liza as “very fresh” and “approachable.” “Batang-bata. Nung nakatrabaho ko siya, alam ko na she likes what she’s doing, mabait na bata. Yun lang in this industry kasi you have to have talagawisdom, and yung marunong kang manindigan.”
With Liza’s beauty, it’s a given that more offers will be coming her way, and here is what Kristine has to say when it comes to accepting more roles and other projects: “Number one, put God in the center of your life, yun ang unang-una talaga. And then kailangan may dignidad ka at saka integrity to say no, and say yes. Kung ano yung mga projects na gagawin, at yung mga projects na hindi gagawin,” Hermosa tells MB.
