It’s that time of the year again, mga beshie. Manila International Book Fair (MIBF), one of the country’s biggest, is back! MIBF is an annual convention where you can buy books, magazines, and comics from big bookstore chains, indie shops, and local publishers. They also have signings, launches, meet and greets, workshops, and more fun activities for the attendees. Bongga, ’di ba?

For those who have never been, but are interested in attending MIBF 2018, here are some things you need to remember:

1. Get free tickets.

Okay, P50 lang naman ang entrance fee, but it’s more fun if we can score free pass, right? Pamasahe din yun. Some exhibitors like bookstores and publishers give away free tickets. Just check out their websites or Facebook pages to get one.

2. List down the titles that you want.

The night before the fair, make sure you already know what you’re going to buy. Shopping spree is fun, but take note that the fair will start on the 12th. Petsa de peligro pa, friend. Mas maganda na yung ready ka sa mga bibilhin mo.

3. Bring eco bags.

If you’re going to hoard books, comics, and magazines, it’s better to bring your own eco bags. With all the things that you’re going to buy, ang hirap magbitbit ng tigi-isang lalagyan, ’te. It will make your life easier and you can help save the environment.

4. Come early.

Sabi nga nila, “Early bird catches the worm.” If you come early, you can score great deals and  explore the booths easily. Better if you can be at the venue before 10am. You can also try visiting on weekdays because the weekend is expected to have a big crowd.

5. Check the events schedule.

Many authors will be at the MIBF to launch their books and meet their fans. Andun ka na lang rin naman, might as well meet your favorite authors. Check the events schedule here.
