When we say pageant for Chinoys, alam naming Mr. and Ms. Chinatown agad ang maiisip mo. (Aminin!) Since 2013, this competition encourages Chinoy millennials from different sectors to be an advocate on raising awareness about the Chinese-Filipino culture and tradition.
With the theme #BeautyindiverCHIty, Chinoy TV, Tak Chun Group, and Miss Chinatown Foundation aims to break the stereotypes about the modern Chinoy community through this year’s pageant. Para saan pa nga ba ang pagiging woke nating mga millennial if we’re not advocating for change, ’di ba?
The 28 contestants who participated in different pre-pageant activities will compete for the last time on September 2 at the SM MOA Arena. The grand winners and runners-up will take home P200,000, P100,000, and P50,000 worth of cash and prizes, respectively. But wait, there’s more, mga memsh. The winning Miss Chinatown will also compete at the Miss Chinese International 2019.
