Shawarma is a great comfort food for a few reasons: one, it’s fast food served hot, fresh, and assembled right in front of you; two, you can easily eat it with your hands; and three, it’s easy to find — shawarma stalls are practically everywhere these days. But finding that special shawarma to beat all shawarmas, that’s the trick.
This is where Shawa Wama comes in, a new grab-and-go food spot that puts the fun in its name and Mediterranean food offerings.
A new concept from the Moment group – home to (our) other food favorites such as 8Cuts Burgers – Shawa Wama aims to make Mediterranean food more accessible and affordable to Filipinos.
For under 250 pesos, you can customize your pita pockets or meals over rice and hummus with your choice of meat and vegetables. Choose from beef, chicken, and lamb for meaty goodness. For non-meat eaters, you can go for red beet falafel or fried cauli.
You can smother your ‘Wama with five different sauces, too, (yes, you read that right): mild green finger chili sauce, hot red birds eye chili sauce, white garlic sauce, lemon garlic sauce, or cheese sauce. They also have crispy-on-the-outside-yet-soft-on-the-inside sweet potato fries. It’s non-greasy and never goes soggy (and probably better that any fast food french fries we’ve ever tried).
Eat these wherever your feet takes you: in the cinema, at Bayad Centers, or even while window shopping at the mall. Shawa Wama also lives up to its “no-fuss” concept, making delivery right at your doorstep or wherever you are (in Makati for now) available through Food Panda.
The fun doesn’t end there. They’ve also partnered with Manila Creamery to create an ice cream, a yogurt, and a sorbet to balance out the strong flavors of their to-go meals. These flavors are exclusive to ‘Wama, too, so that’s one more reason to come check out this food spot.
Shawa Wama is finally open at the Powerplant Mall (we’ve been excited about it for ages) to serve all shawarma lovers out there (including us)!
