Just in time for the summer season here in the Philippines, National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) invites everyone to participate in the hottest event this year!
The Parker Solar Probe, a spacecraft which is about the size of a small car, will travel directly into the Sun’s atmosphere about 4 million miles from our star’s surface! But before its launch in July, NASA encourages us to be part of the first-ever mission to touch the Sun.
The spacecraft will not travel alone to the space because you can now grab a “Hot Ticket” to join the space mission and send your name into the heart of the sun.
Submit your name to their website and it will be included in a memory card that will fly aboard Parker Solar Probe spacecraft. Just put your full name and e-mail address and you will receive a message to confirm the process.
After the registration, you may now download your very own “Hot Ticket” or participation certificate! So cool!
According to NASA, the mission will “revolutionise our understanding of the sun”.
“This probe will journey to a region humanity has never explored before. This mission will answer questions scientists have sought to uncover for more than six decades,” said Thomas Zurbuchen, the associate administrator for the Science Mission Directorate at NASA Headquarters in Washington.
Submissions will be accepted until April 27. Learn more about the mission and add your name here: http://go.nasa.gov/HotTicket
